Fall is a wonderful time in Santa Fe. From the fresh scent of roasting green chile at roadside stands to the glorious golden leaves of the aspen trees, there’s no other place like it. This is a great time of year to stop by The Teahouse and warm up with a cup of hot tea. We’ve got more than 150 exotic flavors. Fill up on sweet jumbo scones with clotted cream and savory soups and warm entrees. We’ve got free Wi-Fi, a new bakery featuring gluten-free breads, muffins and more and we’re now serving Metropolis Coffee from Chicago.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
As hundred of hot air balloons in an array of dazzling colors and shapes take to the skies, visitors from around the world trek to the Balloon Fiesta field to watch them take off and land during mass ascensions and evening glows. This is one of the most photographed events in the world, and the world’s largest hot air balloon event. This year’s fiesta runs October 1 through 9.
Golden Aspens
The Santa Fe Ski Basin is filled with glorious aspen trees that turn golden this time of year. Hike the Aspen Vista Trail for panoramic views or drive up Hyde Park Road to see them surrounding you.
Fall Harvest at The Santa Fe Farmers’ Market
The Santa Fe Farmer’s Market is filled with its annual fall harvest, from pumpkins and apples to green chile, squash, cheese, organic meat and more. This market has been named one of best in the country, and after a morning shopping here, you’ll see why. Open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m.
Art Studio Tours
The towns and villages around Santa Fe host open studio tours throughout the fall, from Abiquiu to El Rito, Dixon and Galisteo. Meet artists in their work space and purchase art directly from them. The tours also include food, music, entertainment and more..
Canyon Road Paint-Out
This famous mile-long road becomes an art festival as artists set up their easels and invite guests to participate in creating their work. Enjoy food, music and more. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 15, with a Children’s Parade at noon.
Santa Fe Film Festival
View the best in independent cinema during this four-day festival, held October 20-23 in various venues around the city. There’s also a full schedule of screenings, parties and more.
Santa Fe Harvest Festival
Celebrate fall’s bounty with this festival that offers nearly a month of special dining events, from discounts at top Santa Fe restaurants to a server relay race around the Plaza. Also on tap are cooking classes taught by acclaimed Santa Fe chefs, a food and wine tasting, a Best of the Fest Gala dinner, a chef showdown, Bar Wars and a silent auction. The event benefits Cooking with Kids, a non profit that teaches kids to cook dishes from around the world using healthy ingredients. From November 1-23.
